The Founder

No Marine Should Fight Two Wars.

One against an enemy overseas. One against the system that was supposed to have your back.

Where It Began
Steve Ely · U.S. Air Force · Korean War

"My father served. He came home disabled. He died of cancer when I was 18. I joined the Marines to honor what he started."

Falls Church, Virginia. Small town, no plan. Delivering Domino's pizza, stocking shelves at Southern States. My father died when I was 18. Steve Ely — Air Force, Korean War, disabled veteran. I walked into a recruiting office in April 1989. Not for adventure. To honor what he built. I had no idea Iraq was about to invade Kuwait.

11th MEU (SOC) · 1990–1994

Three deployments with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) — USS Tarawa during Desert Storm, then USS Peleliu through Operation Southern Watch and the AC-130 recovery operation off the coast of Kenya.

Radio Watch Supervisor and Satellite Communications Operator for the MEU command element, both ashore and afloat. Selected as 11th MEU NCO of the Month, October 1992. Four Meritorious Masts, two Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Good Conduct Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal. The work was satellite comms, the pace was steady, and the gear had to work.

Sergeant Ely in dress blues — still fits, still fighting
Still Fighting
The Blues Fit. The Rating Doesn't.

The dress blues still fit. The 30% doesn't reflect what the service cost. My appeal is active. I started at 0%. Fought to 10%. Fought to 30%. That fight took years. This tool cuts it to minutes. Free. Because no veteran should fight the bureaucracy alone.
